Bortec Laser Bore Pty Ltd was established in 2017. The directors are Keiran Fetterplace and Mick Ward. Combined they have over 50 years’ experience in the Civil, Auger Boring and Tunneling Industries.

Bortec Laser Bore Pty Ltd is fully certified and can complete micro tunneling and auger boring projects under roads, rail, water ways, and wherever open cut trenching is not an option. Projects include pipe jacking, auger boring for the installation of stormwater, water, sewer, gas, electrical and telecommunication conduits and tube canopies where required. Bortec is ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 accredited by a CAB under JAS-ANZ

Services

Bortec Laser Bore delivers precision underground boring solutions for infrastructure projects across NSW. Whether you’re crossing a busy highway, working near live rail, or navigating waterways, our team gets pipe in the ground — without tearing it up.

Laser Bore

  • Our laser guided equipment is manufactured by Bohrtec GmBH in Germany. The bore sizes range from 400mm – 1200mm diameter up to 120m in length. Launch pits can be 6m x 3m depending on bore length and site access restrictions Ground conditions can range from natural displaceable material from sand, clay, shales and low strength sandstone. In running sand and water charged ground we use a laser guided pilot tube system; in non-displaceable ground conditions we use front steer method. This system relies on auger returning the spoil, hence no costs for tip fees or vac trucks. Bohrtec technicians visit regularly to complete training on staff and issue VOC on their equipment

Pipe Jacking

  • We have a pipe jacking machine capable of pipe jacking up to 1200mm diameter in sand and OTR. This machine can be set up in a 3m x 2m Launch pit where conventional boring equipment cannot be used. This machine requires a 5t excavator to position it in the launch pit and supply hydraulics to power the jacks This machine is used in conjunction with hand digging methods. Mostly used in tight access and preferably sand.

Auger Bore

  • This method is available using our conventional auger boring machines. These machines can bore on grade within 50mm, with no guarantee on alignment. The bores sizes range from 400mm -1200mm diameter up to 150m in length Launch pits can be 6m x 2.5m, 7m x 3m or 10m x 3m depending on bore length and site access restrictions Ground conditions can range from sand, clay, shale and rock up to 50mpa
